Busy Girl's Everyday Beauty Routine

Be honest – when was the last time you had a solid 8-hour sleep (or 12, thank you!) without having someone interrupt you, whether it was your boss on the phone, the crazy neighbor shouting from across the street, or just your dog running around, chasing its tail and barking for no reason at all (while you are trying to get some beauty sleep). Ha, well – us, too! We feel your pain, darling… we really do.

It’s amazing, really – how on Earth do we get to look as good as we do with so many things that we have to do in one day! It must be a solid routine that gets everything spinning right, so we may as well fashion or adopt one and stick to it religiously in order to have our appearances match our awesome personality.

Here are some tips that will hopefully help every busy girl get ready in a jiffy:

Be organized, please

Regardless of the job you do or the number of things you have to do in a day, organizing your schedule so it fits your mind, body and soul is key. No one knows you better than you know yourself, so, if you KNOW you’ll need extra 30 minutes to get ready, then wake up 30 minutes before you initially planned to. If you KNOW you want your coffee hot and in the comfort of your own home, organize other stuff so you actually have the time to do it. The same thing applies to your beauty routine: KNOW what feels good on your skin, how long it takes to apply and what effects you are getting – and plan accordingly.

NOTE: Organize all of your beauty products and essentials in containers so you always know (no matter how sleepy you are) which section holds which products.

Choose simplicity & quality

The best way to keep your skin healthy and nurtured even when you have just a few minutes to make everything sit properly is to use multitasking products that are both nurturing and polishing. For instance, opt for a moisturizer that both contains antioxidants and an SPF of at least 30. Or, instead of worrying about your tan and all the contouring, use a BB crème with an SPF (we swear by Nivea) and a tone that matches your natural skin color.

Don’t ever go a shade down or up because you want to force a certain look and instead, give your skin a healthy glow. Focus on the eyes and eyebrows by using a quality mascara that’s both conditioning the lashes and giving them volume. We love Jane Iredale PureLash Lash Extender & Conditioner, especially now that they’re on a discount.

After you’re done with the lashes, use the same brush to lightly brush out the brows – it’ll give them thickness and shape! For finishing touches, apply eye shadow in the corners of your eyes for freshness (again, Jane Iredale has got amazing eye shadow kits) and use that same eye shadow as a blush. This way your makeup will be flawless and you’ll be ready in 5 minutes tops! Adding a few drops of your signature scent will complete this quick everyday routine.

Nighttime matters just as much as daytime

Yes, there’ll be plenty more times when you’ll stay awake till 2, 3 maybe even 4AM and you’ll feel absolutely worn-out. Your makeup will be all smudged and face slightly greasy as the skin is reacting to the product that’s been sitting on there way too long. No matter how tired you are, always remove your makeup. If your makeup removal process is way too complicated and long use makeup removal wet wipes.

But, how long can it be to spray Micellar Cleansing water on the face and wipe the makeup off with cotton puffs, really? You can be removing your makeup while you are going through your report one last time, writing a paper, eating, going around your house looking for your pajamas, etc. Multitask! Leaving the skin clear of products and letting it breathe over night will definitely keep your face clean, healthy and glowing, as well as and ready for another day of makeup.
