FOOD: Neil's Kitchen @ Alabang Westgate Filinvest

I recently visited Philippines to attend my cousin's wedding, and to visit Boracay, and I barely had time to stay in Manila. Given the time constraint, I only managed to visit places in the South, where I originally resided before moving here to Sydney.

I missed Filipino food. But it would be lovely to try something different.

A few minutes from home, my parents brought me to Neil's Kitchen, where I got to try out Filipino dishes with a modern twist.

The place is at the corner. It can easily be seen from the entrance.

The interior was definitely artsy and modern. You will definitely feel that the genius behind this place is one creative thinker, who likes to dare himself to present something extremely different.

For our mains, we ordered Bagoong Paella with Kare-Kare, Grilled Chicken & Crispy Pork with Dinuguan Fondue, and Grilled Barbecue Squid with Kimchi Fried Rice.

As you may have noticed, the idea behind these dishes is that some of their elements are already incorporated in the rice, or are taken out to be presented differently.

The serving was enough for 2 people.

Check out our dishes:

And for the dessert!

We had Fried Suman, Mangga, & Chocnut.

Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Neil's Kitchen.  It is definitely worth it to come down to the South, and try this one-of-a-kind Modern Filipino restaurant!
