Carlo Aquino is Back ... Why Should I Care?

It was 1999, and one of the starting Carlo Aquino fansites was created by yours truly (nakanamanachosss! hahaha). I was only 10 years old that time, and I supported this "Bata, Bata... Pa'no Ka Ginawa?" actor all the way. I do not know if he was able to see that website, but if you searched for "Carlo Aquino" in search engines those days, my website was the first site to come up. I don't want to sound like I'm bragging because that is not my intention. I just got really proud of that moment because I am happy that I was successful in supporting my favorite actor at an early age, especially through the internet where I can connect with other fans as well.

Then I stopped managing the website when I was 12 years old. So, pretty much, the website started to die down, while other websites started to spring up.

Anyway, that was quite an intro, huh? I am aware that this is an unknown fact to many of you, my dear readers, especially after reading that I dedicated so much time in creating a fan site for Carlo Aquino those days. Yes, I was one of his teenybopper fans back then. Now you know. See? It wasn't Orlando Bloom who came first. =P

Why am I making this post all of a sudden? Well, I'm no longer a teenybopper, but I am just proud of Carlo Aquino for actually rebuilding his career once again. As a child actor, he was definitely one of the few ones who can do heavy roles. He wasn't the "pa-cute lang" actor. He was, is, and will always be a TALENTED ACTOR.

I think he deserves to have a greater career this time around. He can handle roles that are usually given to veteran actors, which was already noticeable even when he was just a kid. Some of his great movies include "Bata, bata... Pa'no Ka Ginawa?", "Bagong Buwan", "Minsan May Isang Puso", "Sugatang Puso", "Kahapon May Dalawang Bata", and "Baler". He is the type of actor who can get nominated and can win awards plenty of times. He was different among the usual actors of his age those days. He proved this further with his Maalala Mo Kaya ( MMK ) episodes last year and this year. Definitely a talented actor!

 So, when I saw this interview he had with Mr. Boy Abunda (see below), I became so proud of him. I know we do not know each other personally, but I felt proud as a friend, since I've seen him grow up behind the TV/movie screen-- from being Kokey's best friend to being President Ina's son.

Basically, I do care that he's back. And I am wishing him all the best for his career. Also, I do hope that you get to read this  (one of my childhood wishes on my bucket list haha! the other one was to meet you, but I am already okay with you just being able to read this) because I feel bad that the website I created for you when I was a kid was a bit... uhm... I can't describe it. Haha! But hey, I was only 10 that time! So what do you expect? =p 

 UPDATE (02/16/2013): Mr. Carlo Aquino just messaged me on Twitter, acknowledging that he was able to read this post, so I would like to extend my gratitude to you, Mr. Carlo, for having the time to read this. Thank you for making that childhood dream come true. =) I am wishing you all the best! Enjoy everything  you're doing! I appreciate your humility. God bless!

He has confirmed last November 2012 that he is restarting his career at ABS-CBN, where he originally began.

 P.S. I knew that Camille Prats was his first crush. Harhar. Fun facts you'd know as a fan back then. =p I'm so proud of myself that I still know this haha!

      Sabi ni Carlo sa mga interviews nya e parang napressure siya sa high expectations sa kanya as an actor tapos parang nawalan siya ng confidence tapos ayun, medyo onti2x na yung projects nya... Pero ngayon, babawi na siya and I'm glad na he plans to enjoy the craft more...

    sana mabigyan sya ng break ngayon since alam mo na, ang society nowadays, puro pa-cute factors na lang tinitignan at hindi ang acting prowess na meron si carlo aquino.

      i agreeee ! tsaka puro parang... ewan... dati kasi napakalalim ng mga palabas. yung hindi puro lovelife lovelife na ibang level... yung g-mik kasi parang oo may lovelife pero very family-oriented pa rin... ngayon kasi parang mature na mature na lahat

    Parang tumanda sya ng slight siguro dahil mature roles na rin ang binibigay sa kanya. Sana mabasa nya nga ito at malaman nyang ginawan mosya ng website. Tapos magkaroon kayo ng moments LOL.
