Filipino Bakeshop: I'm Baked Passions

A business that started literally because of love--love for food and his girlfriend. Love does make great changes. What started as baking for his girlfriend "cake after cake" resulted to baking for the many because the love of his life said "Why not sell them so that many people can also taste?"

With that simple remark from his girlfriend, "I'M BAKED PASSIONS" then started to boom. His girlfriend is a close friend of mine from college, and I met the genius chef behind this business only once (before I left for Australia; and we never talked until I saw his posts about his cakes and such), yet his passion for his baked creations made me curious as to what drove him to suddenly venture out to this road. I was delighted and touched by his story, making me finally see the reason why there really is so much passion in his work, which you shall see in his final baked products (photos below).



In this post, I interviewed the romantic chef, who had no formal training nor schooling in his field, which will give you a brief illustration of the man who became PASSIONate in his endeavours.





WHO IS THE PERSON BEHIND I'M BAKED PASSIONS?
- MARVIN IVAN LUCERO PULUMBARIT: Sous Chef by profession. I started baking from my home kitchen at the age of 12 years old. I had no formal training nor schooling.










WHAT DOES YOUR BUSINESS OFFER?
- The main concept of the business is to "educate" the public for a better, and value for money products; what we should have been getting from the cake and pastries that commercial bakeshop negatively shows the public.



HOW DID YOU START YOUR BUSINESS?
- Ito alam ko na agad sagot dito. Promise, seryoso kay Vicki (his girlfriend and my friend) lang nagsimula lahat. No joke! I just started to bring Vicki cake after cake, tapos sabi nya "Bakit kaya di mo ibenta para marami makatikim?"

WHAT IS THE INSPIRATION BEHIND YOUR PRODUCTS?
- Love of food! But most of all, for the love of my life, Ms. Ma. Victoria B. Tiburcio.

I started this business with a very simple goal: To educate! e.g. How food should taste; Fresh ingredients, Locally made, Seasonal Products. ( 04.21.10 )

Fresh ingredients that are locally made:
-Cacao from Davao
-Mascuvado from Pangasinan
-Milk Fresh from Tagaytay
-Farm Eggs from Tagaytay
-Flour from San Miguel Foods

Only imported used:

“Hershey’s Chocolate” (Loyal Supplier)
